UWC Sweden is the Swedish national committee for the wider UWC movement. The organisation exists to select and fund students from Sweden to UWC schools, but also to increase awareness of UWC in Sweden and promote solidarity and commitment among UWC alumni in Sweden.
UWC Sweden is also a member organisation for everyone who wants to support UWC and UWC Sweden’s work – e.g. former students, parents, teachers, and employees in the UWC movement. As a paying member, you help the organisation develop, and have voting rights during the annual meeting.
All board members of UWC Sweden work on a voluntary basis and have been selected or elected to the committee to fill specific skills and vacancies. Many of UWC Sweden’s non-board members also support UWC Sweden’s work during the annual selection process and participate in summer and alumni meetups throughout the year.

1. Promote UWC opportunities
We raise awareness about UWC’s unique educational opportunities across Sweden, ensuring that students from all backgrounds can learn about and apply to UWC schools and colleges.
2. Select students with potential
Through a fair and comprehensive selection process, we identify young people who have a changemaker mindset, demonstrate leadership skills, academic potential and a strong commitment to UWC values.
3. Support students and families
From the moment a student is selected, we guide them and their families through the preparation process, helping them transition smoothly into the UWC experience. We also provide ongoing support throughout their time at UWC.
4. Fundraise for scholarships
We work to make UWC accessible to students regardless of financial background by fundraising for scholarships, aiming to ensure that financial constraints do not prevent deserving students from attending. Read more about our finances and how we welcome support here.
5. Build a UWC community
We foster a strong network of UWC alumni, students, and supporters in Sweden, creating a community of like-minded individuals dedicated to making a difference.
